REMINDERS

Financial Aid 2009-10 School Year – The PSAS Financial Aid forms are now in the office.  This is much earlier than last year.  They are due Dec. 31, 2008.  You will be including your 2007 Federal Income Tax information.  Please take advantage of the first round.

Non Competitive Parish Scholarship (Registered Members of St. James Parish)-Eligibility is based on a $250 contribution for the year 2008 using the parish envelope system.  This credit is applied to next year’s tuition.  Please check with the rectory as to your current status. 

 

After School Clubs – They are starting up.  Please honor the pick-up times.

 

Winter Uniforms – The wearing of Winter Uniforms commences November 4.  Boys (grades 1-8) and girls (grades 5-8) must wear the school sweater at all times.  Boys wearing the button down shirt must wear the school tie.  Girls may wear the gray corduroy pants. 

 

Scrip Gift Order Forms – The forms will be available as of Nov. 11th.  Check the WIN folder and Website for more information about the Scrip Gift Cards.

 

Basketball Blowout – Join us for a fun night in the Gym on Nov. 7th.  Come a little early and watch the pre-game of our local Police Department vs. the Royals.   Teachers will do their best against our own Varsity and JV teams.  Students through grades 5 are to sit with their parents.  No one other than players are allowed on the court.  Mr. Bacon race will be half time!

 

Green and White Dress Down – To get into the SPIRIT of Basketball Blowout students may dress down in Green and White or any St. James gear-wear on November 7th

               

Other Children of God – Thanksgiving Food Drive – Student Council will conduct a food drive for the St. Vincent de Paul Society to provide Thanksgiving dinner baskets for those in need.  Information will be forthcoming as to each class assignment.

 

Dress Down- For $1 students may dress down on Nov. 14th.  The money will be donated to Lunch Break of Red Bank through the organization of Girls’ Scout Troop # 1860.

 

Ladies Night Out – A new feature this year.  Come to Buona Sera for a “girls’ only night.  A little shopping, some gift opportunities, and lots of fun with friends!  Nov. 20th .  It begins at 6:30 PM. Mark it down!

 

Morning Drop-Off – Every once in a while reminders must be given about traffic procedures for Peters Place in the morning.  Please pull up as far as possible before stopping to let your child/children out of the car.  Backpacks must be in the body of the car, not the trunk.  Children must disembark on the curbside only.  Do not stop in the middle of the street and allow your child/children to get out of the car.  

The staff members are out there for the safety of all the students – regardless of the weather.  Please be respectful to them.  They are protecting you and yours.  Your cooperation and help are greatly appreciated.

St. James Athletic Association (SJAA)
All SJAA meetings are held in the Library at 7:00 pm. New members are welcomed to attend. The full schedule of meeting dates

The next Saint James Athletic Association (SJAA) meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 20th at 7:00 PM in the SJS Library.

New Scrip Program

Holiday Shopping Guide
The new Holiday Shopping Guide is now available here. Retailers and SJS Family-owned businesses want to help St. James raise funds.  And they are willing to do this by giving a portion of our sales back to the school.  But we must take an extra step or two when holiday shopping to give them the opportunity to help us.  Please be sure to read through all the great programs like Monmouth Mall School Sense, OneCause (formerly SchoolPop), Target Red Program, Five Below and many more.  Let them help us!!!!
