School Closing Information Emergency Closings
In the event of emergency closings (weather related or otherwise), announcements will be made over the following radio stations between 6:00 and 8:00 A.M.: AM FM WJLK (1320 AM) Monmouth Co. 94.3 FM We have begun using the Honeywell Instant Alert System For Schools to quickly disseminate information to St. James families. In case of school closure or early dismissal due to weather an email and/or phone call will be sent to any email address or phone numbers you have requested. To register for the system please select Honeywell Instant Alert System from the left column here to access the website anytime. Emergency closing information will also be posted on the school's website: www.mysaintjames.com . If an emergency arises during a school day, parents will be notified by the class parent and an announcement will be made on the radio as soon as possible. Please listen to the radio if snow begins during a school day. The school will abide by the instructions completed by parents on the Emergency Management Closing form for dismissal procedures regarding their children. It is the parent's responsibility to be sure the Business Office has the current home, work and emergency phone numbers at all times. A Change of Personal Information Form can be found in the Helpful Forms link in the left hand column of this page. Please submit the form to the Business Office as soon as any changes occur. In addition, please log into the Honeywell System, link also available in the left column, and update all information to ensure you will recieve any alerts. The public school district determines whether or not buses will run during inclement weather. In the event that a public school district is closed in which a student resides, but St. James is open, it is the responsibility of parents to transport those students to and from school when there is no bus service. Although St. James School does not hold “delayed openings”, many public school districts do and busing schedules are determined by those districts. Therefore, if the local public school district is on a 90 minute delayed opening, students attending St. James School from that district will be picked up 90 minutes later than normal scheduled time. Students are not marked tardy. Parents must listed to the local radio stations or contact the districts at the phone numbers listed below to ascertain this information.
