Teachers. The professional and spiritual nature of the teacher is acknowledged. Each is trusted to incorporate various teaching methods to meet the learning modalities within the classroom. Adherence to the guidelines of Diocesan policies and professionalism is expected. Teachers are encouraged by the principal to share and evaluate current techniques and to pursue professional growth through the use of continuing education and attendance at professional workshops. The faculty holds teaching credentials and New Jersey Certification. The teaching faculty strives to remain current in both content and pedagogy. Teachers participate regularly in on-going Professional Development by attending conferences, in-services, graduate courses and continuous professional reading.

Teachers are evaluated formally and informally throughout the year by the principal. The Diocesan observation and evaluation tools are employed. The state Mentor Program is utilized when appropriate for the acquisition of permanent certification for new teachers. Self evaluation is encouraged by the use of Personal Improvement Plans.

Teachers Aides. St. James also provides Teachers Aides to help support the teachers and provide students with more individualized attention from Pre School through 2nd Grade.
