Advancement's mission is to develop and maintain relationships with alumni, fundraise to secure new and increased sources of revenue to enhance the overall quality of our educational program and provide funding for structural improvements and maintenance at SJS.
The most common question is, “What is Advancement and how is it different from the PTA?” The primary difference between Advancement and PTA is that the PTA’s bylaws require all monies earned during the school year must be spent within that school year. The Advancement program provides a way to earn and save money over multiple years to fund major projects, scholarship programs, and other initiatives beyond PTA’s scope.
To support St. James Elementary School and its students, Advancement includes the following groups, which are involved in fund raising, and local community engagement:
Progressive Raffle
Gift Stuffers
Christmas Stocking Stuffers
Easter Basket Stuffers
Box Tops , Labels for Education and Tyson A+ Programs
S.H.O.P. for St. James Year-round
SHOP is the contractual friendship we have with businesses that sponsor events and promotions by businesses that
give back to SJS.
(Includes Target, Barnes & Noble, Brothers Nights, etc.)
